David Boyer is ENA’s new Director of Electricity Systems. He will oversee critical projects such as Open Networks, work to digitalise the connections process and innovation.

In his new role, David will be responsible for leading all aspects of ENA’s work around electricity systems, including our flagship projects helping to make the UK’s energy grid smarter and more flexible, delivering benefits for customers in the long run.

David joins us from Accenture and has over 13 years of experience in the utilities sector. He began his career with UK Power Networks, where he worked in a host of engineering roles before specialising in putting innovation into practice, as Innovation Manager. At Accenture, he spent five years on strategic projects, often focused on the challenges within energy transition.

"It’s great to have David in the team. It’s a key time for the energy sector and the future of the UK’s power grid. David’s skills, experience and ideas will help us continue to support our members in creating the smart, flexible and sustainable grid that will power net zero.”

David Boyer, Director of Electricity System, at Energy Network Association said:

“I am excited to join ENA and to support the electricity networks as an industry, in particular responding to the challenges and opportunities posed by the energy transition. There’s a range of important focus areas that are best progressed jointly as an industry that I look forward to working on, including connecting low carbon technologies, the digitalisation of network services and  establishing more active and flexible networks at scale.”
